By late 2019, concepts of agile workspace, hoteling, hot desking, and Activity Based Working had taken hold and were becoming the standard way of designing and using office space. Then the pandemic. During the month of March 2020, the world collectively decided that the recently discovered novel Coronavirus, COVID-19, represented an immediate danger to health, and the world went into lockdown. At the moment we are in an interim period. A limited return to the office has begun, but since there is not yet a cure or vaccine for COVID-19, office use is accompanied by significant requirements for social distancing, limited occupancy, deep cleaning and incident tracing.
