Executive Abstract
Immersive technologies, such as interactive 360-degree video, virtual reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), are rapidly transforming traditional models of training and delivery. Immersive technology has emerged as an innovative tool and technological modality that can enhance traditional learning and increase skill adoption across a wide range of industries. In healthcare, it has shown success in augmenting teaching methods within laparoscopic surgery, dentistry, radiation oncology, rehabilitation, and important elements of non-technical skills training, such as preparation and communication.
It’s in this latter area, of human-related skills and performance where Virti is located, as an immersive learning platform, utilising mixed reality (XR) to enable experiential learning and incorporating artificial intelligence into training.
Implementing immersive simulations into businesses has the potential, when executed correctly, to eliminate barriers in experiential training and open otherwise difficult to access scenarios and learning opportunities, especially within healthcare.
