The complexity of compensation programs has increased dramatically, as companies work to strengthen the link between variable pay and performance and introduce new forms of equity compensation. Thanks to the internet, employees have access to detailed compensation information by job title and location. And, with the explosion of online video, the way employees learn has changed. Despite all of these challenges, the communication of compensation in organizations has not changed much over the years.
